چکیده

Aphis gossypii Glover and Acyrthosiphon Mordvilko (Hemiptera: Aphididae) are key pests of cotton, Gossypium hirsutum L., known to induce cotton host plant defense responses. Deep RNA sequencing the transcriptome followed by differential expression analyses were performed clarify molecular mechanisms in response feeding these aphid pests. We found 6,565 genes differentially expressed Ac. 823 that A. gossypii, while 2,379 simultaneous both species. Pathway enrichment analysis showed associated with enriched for metabolic pathways, porphyrin chlorophyll metabolism, biosynthesis secondary metabolites, carotenoids, pentose phosphate pathway. The pathways fed on thiamine glutathione plant–pathogen interaction, sesquiterpene triterpenoid biosynthesis. induced species primarily related circadian rhythm regulation, photosynthesis, galactose flavonoid

Gene Expression Profiling in Winged and Wingless Cotton Aphids, Aphis gossypii (Hemiptera: Aphididae)

While trade-offs between flight capability and reproduction is a common phenomenon in wing dimorphic insects, the molecular basis is largely unknown. In this study, we examined the transcriptomic differences between winged and wingless morphs of cotton aphids, Aphis gossypii, using a tag-based digital gene expression (DGE) approach. Ultra high-throughput Illumina sequencing generated 5.30 and 5...

BIOLOGY/ECOLOGY Dispersal mechanisms Flight range of winged adults is very limited. Long-range dispersal of eggs, immature stages and adults is manmediated with the transport of infested plant material. Reproduction The taxonomic status of this alien aphid is problematic, and hence the interpretation of biological information is difficult. Moreover, different biotypes exhibiting host preference...

Identification of Aphis gossypii Glover (Hemiptera: Aphididae) Biotypes from Different Host Plants in North China.

BACKGROUND The cotton-melon aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover (Hemiptera: Aphididae), is a polyphagous species with a worldwide distribution and a variety of biotypes. North China is a traditional agricultural area with abundant winter and summer hosts of A. gossypii. While the life cycles of A. gossypii on different plants have been well studied, those of the biotypes of North China are still uncle...

Relationship between Aphis gossypii (Homoptera: Aphididae) and sticky lint in cotton.

The study was conducted in the northern Texas Rolling Plains in 1999 to define the relationship between number of cotton aphids, Aphis gossypii Glover, and resulting contamination of cotton lint by honeydew. Whole-plot treatments were three furrow irrigation management treatments: cotton grown without supplemental irrigation (dryland), irrigated cotton with last irrigation in mid August, and ir...

Multivariate approach to quantitative analysis of Aphis gossypii Glover (Hemiptera: Aphididae) and their natural enemy populations at different cotton spacings

The relationship between pests and natural enemies using multivariate analysis on cotton in different spacing has not been documented yet. Using multivariate approaches is possible to optimize strategies to control Aphis gossypii at different crop spacings because the possibility of a better use of the aphid sampling strategies as well as the conservation and release of its natural enemies. The...
